Coronation Beach

Sunset at Coronation Beach, Geraldton

I’ve had some good windsurfing here at Coronation Beach. I got here on Thursday night and the flies were driving me crazy. I was trapped under my mozzie net all evening till it got dark and they went away. I didn’t think I could cope with this for a few day but luckly the wind came up and drove them away for the rest of my stay here, mostley.
The forecast was for really strong winds and big waves that didn’t arrive but it was enough to get out and a have a good time. There were some pros here doing some fancy freestyle which was good to watch. One of them is 3rd in the world for ladies freestyle. They make it look so easy!
I spent lots of time falling in trying to do vulcans and some big falls trying some forward loops. The waves are really good for jumping here when the wind is strong enough. Yesterday I was underpowered just floating out and catching the waves back in, This was ok though and I feel its improving my balance and wave rideing.
Im going to check the forecast now and see if its worth going to Gnaraloo, 7 hours drive from here, the last hour down a dirt track. It really is in the middle of nowhere. I have to stock up on food and water as the nearest shop is 200kms away (one way) A few other windsurfers went up on Saturday so I will meet them there.
I have been out of network coverage the last few days if anyone has been trying to reach me, Its really patchy around here so don’t worry if you cant get me.
I saw some emus near Cervantes, I hope to get some pics of some roos soon.
